The Romanian Institute for Europe-Asia Studies (IRSEA) has partnered with the Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement (NIICE) to co-organise the NIICE Global Conclave 2021.

 

NIICE is an independent, apolitical and non-partisan think tank based in Nepal, which believes in freedom, democracy and a world free from conflict and focuses on South Asia and China in general and India and China in particular.

The Global Conclave 2021 is a three-day event aiming to bring together leaders, diplomats, business leaders and scholars from Asia and around the world. The objective of the conclave is to introduce, analyse and discuss the fast-changing geopolitics of the region.

The event will reunite over 150 professionals and academics in the field of International Affairs, debating over a large gamut of topics ranging from “Gender, Peace and Development” to “The Rise of China”, and the “Maritime Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific”.

Ambassador (p) Gheorghe Savuica, Founder and President of IRSEA, will deliver a guest lecture on the role of ASEAN from model of regional development to Indo-Pacific soft power projection. Ambassador Savuica is a former Ambassador of Romania to Indonesia and Pakistan and Chief of Mission to Sri Lanka, Malaysia, the Philippines, Cyprus, Finland and Estonia. He is also a former Director of the Asia Pacific Division and former Director General of the Asia Pacific, Near and Middle East, Africa and Latin America Department of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has published several articles and chapters on international affairs. Amb. (p) Savuica received the "Grigore Gafencu" Award on behalf of the Academy of Romanian Scholars (Academia Oamenilor de Ştiinţă din România). He is a lifetime member of the Society of Asian Civilisations, Islamabad, and Institute for Maritime and Strategic Studies, Jakarta. He has established the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Romania – Malaysia in 2008.
