3 PhD positions within the ERC Advanced Grant Project "Elites, networks, and power in modern urban China (1830-1949)"

The Institute of Asian Studies (IrAsia) at Aix-Marseille University announces three doctoral fellowships in Chinese history in the ERC-funded project ENEP-CHINA.


IIAS Fellowship

The position of affiliated IIAS fellow is intended for outstanding researchers from around the world, to work on an important aspect of Asian studies research in the social sciences and humanities. Interdisciplinary interests are encouraged. We also welcome researchers who would like to work on a collaborative grant proposal or develop their PhD thesis into a book publication.


IRSEA Non-Resident Fellowship Programme

The Romanian Institute for Europe-Asia Studies (IRSEA) cordially invites applications from outstanding locally-based experts from Europe, Asia, Middle East & North Africa in the field of International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, International Law, Journalism, Area Studies and adjacent fields to contribute to an international research team.


Postdoc in China’s, Japan’s, and/or Korea’s contemporary society (1–2 positions)

The person employed is expected to work independently but should also cooperate with other researchers at the Centre. The postdoctoral fellow should participate in, and contribute to, the research environment through active participation in research seminars and other research-related activities, contribute with their own research, as well as contribute to the general development of the research environment in East and South-East Asian Studies.

Postdoc research position in Natural Language Processing

The Elites, Networks and Power in modern China (ENP-China) project is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow in Natural Language Processing to conduct research and develop tools in accordance with the aims of the project. The position comes with a one-year fixed term, but it is renewable once. The recruitment can take place as early as 1st October 2020.
